The former military parade grounds serves as the central square and gathering place for the town of Tequila. It is surrounded by many historic buildings, including a French-style kiosk and the City Hall, a beautiful building well worth visiting, especially for the beautiful mural housed inside. From this site one can see the gardens and esplanades, as well as monuments to Miguel Hidalgo, Benito Juarez and Illustrious (defenders of Tequila).
