Santiago Apostol Parish

Located in downtown Tequila it is a stone church built in the seventeenth century. The church has a single tower and its entrance is an arc, with Doric columns on the sides where you can see an impressive sculpture of St. Michael the Archangel in a niche. The interior is a single nave with arches and several beautiful stained glass windows. The main altarpiece is neoclassical and in the atrium there are colonial figures: the statue of our local saint, Santo Toribio Romo, and two cherubs.
